Testimonial from Dr Ben Balzer
Roger Podmore is not only a person of exemplary character, good humour and extensive golf coaching experience, he is one of the (very) few people who knows what he is talking about when he uses the word "biomechanics". Roger removed 4 different body pains from my swing in just one lesson. He has broken the swing and the body down to a small number of processes that are easy to follow, rather than the dozens of confusing ideas which I have been previously taught. My game has improved, my enjoyment has increased and my pains have gone. So I have no hesitation in recommending Roger to you.
Biomechanics is a wonderful science, but all too often I have seen it used as a smoke screen to bamboozle people. It's quite the opposite with Roger, he clearly understands it and it makes things much more clear and easy to follow. I have found it very empowering, and it has greatly simplified my view of the swing. A good swing does not need to hurt, and does not require a degree in rocket science!

Testimonial from Noah Roet
Hi Roger,
See below for testimonial:
“After 3 months of intense practice and analysis with the Stack-and-Tilt method, I was at a crossroads with my game. Now being a weekend player, this training was quite taxing on my time because I run a business and thus had to sacrifice some of these energies to improve my swing. The guys at stack-and-tilt who were analysing my videos were happy with my progress, but the results on the course weren’t corresponding to this and my body wasn’t happy either. The focus on the conscious positioning of the wrists and arms led to a case of tennis elbow and quite a strained thumb. My handicap was suffering also and I wasn’t improving in length or direction. Previous to this my ‘radar’ was always the saving grace of my game because being a short hitter, I relied on this to score well. Now this was gone – with no distance gain to compensate.
The golfing gods must have been smiling on me one Saturday because as I strode to the driving range for what was likely to be another futile exercise in ball bashing, I bumped into Roger Podmore. He gave me a moment during his teaching to have a chat and I was immediately intrigued by his views on the swing and the role of the body and biomechanics. I told him I wasn’t going anywhere that afternoon until I could get an hour from him, which he obliged. That hour was fascinating on many levels as we spent most of the time talking about my unique physical make-up and how we would use those traits to model a swing that would work for me over and over again. He basically threw out all the habits I’d developed in Stack and Tilt and worked on aspects of biomechanics which made my swing smoother and which felt more natural. Immediately I was swinging slower and gaining more distance – for the first time I felt I was timing the ball.
Since then we have had several lessons and the results are stunning in that short time. My swing feels about half the speed that it use to be yet I am getting at least 10% more distance and often more. The timing is much better and I can dial my shots quite easily. I still have a long way to go because there are many aspects of my swing which still have bad habits and this is obviously going to take time to rectify and Roger has been stressing patience with me as my body has to keep up with these swing changes. Sometimes this patience isn’t easy because when you start crunching the ball further than you ever have, with more height and spin, it’s hard to tone down the excitement. My scores have improved on the course and the slide in my handicap has finally levelled out. My practice at home is more enjoyable as it’s more about rhythm and timing which means there is less intensity and when your practice swings suddenly feel easy and predictable, you tend to spend less time doing it allowing me to balance my time more effectively.
My short journey with Roger has been amazing and I look forward to a long, enjoyable and successful player-coach relationship with him.”
Cheers,
Noah Roet
